My Tips
(1) Remove all leaves on floral stems. No need to wire and tape 14"
tall natural stem roses.
(2) Start with the first rose. Put it in your left hand. This rose is
straight up. This is the center of your topiary.
(3) Now start adding your first row of roses one at a time. Bend the
rose heads forward. You may leave a little space between the heads to
put in your babies breath after you are
finished bending the rose heads. You should use 6 roses.
(4) Now start adding your last row. These will face down.
Remember you are going for a round look. Keep this in mind as you are bending the rose
heads. It is important to put this row below the spaces of the first row.....so they
are staggered.
(5) Once you have all the roses in and you like the shape tie them at
the top with floral wire securely. Wire the bottom securely.
(6) Fill planter with a good sized block of floral foam. Hot glue in
well. Now add your topiary. Center it well. Leave room at the top of the
planter for moss or leaves.
Finish.... Hot glue in your babies breath between the roses. You may
also add ribbon to the main stem or even between the roses if you wish. Cover
foam with moss. Or put a bow in the planter. Wind a stem of ivy around the
main stem if you wish.
Note: You may use bush type roses but you will have to wire and
tape them to extend the stems. For this graphic I used the bush type
roses. It is much easier to use the natural
stems.
